Wadambuk St Andrews Energy hub

Electricity for community use

The state government in conjunction with Ausnet has upgraded the Community Centre's capacity to operate during power outages. They have installed additional solar panels, 2 x 37.5kw Battery storage and a 22kva diesel generator. The aim of this is to provide a community energy source during prolonged Electricity outages. The impetus for this has been the devastating storms in the Dandenongs in 2021 and further highlighted by the recent storm which impacted Mirboo North. The facility is owned by the Nillumbik council and operated by the Community Centre.
